An impassioned, all-round licensed architect, university instructor, restaurateur and fermenter.

Will was educated at Millfield School in the UK and completed his architectural qualifications at the Bartlett, University College London. He has worked with practices in Hong Kong, Berlin, Paris, Bangkok and London on major commercial, residential, religious and heritage projects and now teaches on the INDA BSc international program at the Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok

At INDA Will enjoys sharing his accumulated wisdom from practice and business through teaching 4th year design studio, classes in environmental and structural technology and lectures on professional practice and business management.

Will has led design direction across masterplannning, concept design and detail design development. He has also driven forward business development opportunities with existing and new Clients.

  • 66-72 New Cavendish Street London. Development of 18 luxury apartments behind the retained historic facade. Completion August 2015 cost £8m.

  • 47-53 Queen Anne Street London. New 2,700m2 office building with 2 apartments behind a retained facade. Construction start 2015 cost £12m.

  • 1-3 Bedford Place London. Restoration three early 19th Century townhouses as 9 luxury apartments. Completed 2013 cost £4m

  • Reading International Phase 3. Competition winning scheme for a hotel and office cluster at the southern gateway to Reading. Cost £50m.

  • Novotel St Pancras London. Scheme for the expansion of the hotel and a new public realm connection with the British Library piazza. Cost £30m.


MYAA Mangera Yvars London 10/2010 - 5/2012 (2 years)

Associate

Will managed the London office of this award winning design studio and led the detail design and financial management on a number of projects.

  • Mosque Doha Qatar. Detail design for a large new Mosque forming part of the Msheireb Heart of Doha new City quarter. Under construction.

  • Prayer hall and community centre North Harrow London. Detail design to construction for a 5,000m2 development with large subterranean sports hall and gym. Cost £25m.


AukettSwanke London 9/1998 - 11/2007 (8 years)

Will was jointly responsible for managing and guiding design across the studios and led the design and delivery of 3 BCO award winning headquarters buildings.

  • Napp Pharmaceuticals Cambridge. 13,000m2 of competition winning offices enclosing a south facing courtyard. Completed 2009 cost £22m. 2010 BCO regional award Best Corporate Workplace.

  • Airpark de Paris Ile de France. Competition winning scheme for a new office park close to Orly airport. Phase 1 completed 2005 cost 24m euros.

  • National Air Traffic Services Solent. 22,000m2 offices and technical facilities for the UK’s air traffic manager. Completed 2004 (phase 2 06). Contract value £30m. 2005 national BCO winner Commercial Workplace.

  • Sun Microsystems TVCP Farnborough. BCO award winning headquarters for the soft-/hardware company. Completed 2001 cost £60m. 2001 BCO commendation Commercial Workplace.


Elz & Rothkegel  Berlin 1996 – 99 (3 years)

Conservation architect

  • Altes Stadthaus Berlin. Condition survey and restoration of a historic town hall built in 1911 and extensively damaged during WWII to provide new offices for the City administration. Reconstruction 1997-2000 cost 120m euros.

  • Staatskanzlei Potsdam. Fabric survey, restoration and refurbishment of historic army cadet school built in 1912 and conversion to City authority offices. Completed 2001 cost 11m euros.


DEGW Berlin 1994 - 96 (2 years)

Conservation architect and masterplanner

  • Hotel Esplanade Jena. 152 room 4* Hotel forming a cornerstone in the regeneration of the Carl Zeiss works. Completed 1998 contract value 25m euros.

  • Carl Zeiss Jena. Masterplanning, fabric survey, re-purposing and part restoration of the 19th century former Carl Zeiss factory in the centre of Jena. Construction 1997 – 2000.


Llewelyn Davies Hong Kong 1988 - 89 (9 months)

  • Queen Mary Hospital Hong Kong. Assistant architect completed design and production information for 2 new buildings - 29-storey and 11-storey accommodating 850 beds, 78,500m2. Construction completed 1989.


YRM International Hong Kong 1986 - 88 (18 months)

  • Mass Transit Railway Hong Kong. Assistant architect completed design and production information for new platforms, concourses and station entrances for the Island Line extension.
